The world

Life seems extra challenging these days. Given the events from the last week I realize my life is beyond blessed. Clinging to that I still admit to struggling though. I’ve been tangling often these days as a way to help me re-center. (Here are two that I did in response to the diva’s weekly challenge,…

Duotangle Challenge

There are several challenges out there that help motivate me to do something every week. I’ll get back to the once a day but for now weekly is good. The Mail Me Some Art blog is a great one for all sorts of different technique play and I am the diva does weekly Zentangle® play. This is…

First Challenge

Looking back at my last post I find I can’t believe it’s been almost a month since I’ve posted anything. I’ll give myself a bit of a break given all that’s happened between now and then. My son Quinton broke his collar bone diving for a frisbee during Ultimate Frisbee camp, a week into his healing…

CZT Training

Yesterday I flew home from Rhode Island where I took the Certified Zentangle® Teacher Training. I’ve never experienced anything close to this seminar. Every minute detail was carefully planned out resulting in, not only a smooth and effective training but a feeling of being pampered and supported completely. Upon arrival, a giant tangled flag was…

Tangling my way through

Last week wasn’t pleasant. By Monday I’d been feeling a little better but by that evening, not so much. I stuck close to the couch all week and finally felt completely human by Saturday. It was mentally challenging to say the least because I don’t normally get sick. Flu bites. But I tangled my way…

Healing tangle

I did more sleeping and resting today. And when I wasn’t doing either of those I worked on the tangle Quinn and I began. Isabella joined in today and helped out with it as well. I do love Zentangle and comfort I receive from doing tangles. So much so that a month ago I decided…

Funk

I’ve been in a funk lately. I’m sure it has to do with my being out of commission and in pain most of last week with my pelvis being out of whack and my root canal through my old root canal. I made time this morning (after going to the gym for the first time…

Tangle Box

I’ve been thinking about doing this for a while and finally decided to make it a reality. For those times when I’m not sure which tangle I’d like to do I now have a box full of tangles and I can draw them at random. And I can add to it over time with my…

More work

I worked more on a tangle from a couple days ago. This is not the one I did on the Wacom tablet, it’s one of my postcards. One of these days I might actually finish it. (The photo is not downloading so I’ll post it tomorrow.)

Wacom Tangle

I’m trying out a Wacom drawing tablet and figured I’d try a tangle with it. This isn’t finished but I am for tonight. I didn’t enjoy the process nearly as much as doing it by pen, which makes sense. But it did let me experiment with the tablet without worrying about what I should do…

Tangle and Purse

Hmmmm….my heading seems like it should be a movie title or band name. Or maybe a book. I totally digress. My creative act yesterday was a tangle that I didn’t post last night so there’s a picture of it here. My act today was designing a travel studio bag. That’s not true…I didn’t design the…

New Journey II

I spent time today and finished the card for my leaving co-worker. It evolved in a way I didn’t expect and frankly in a way I’m not sure I like. I’m not saying to beat myself up, instead I’m thinking of it more as a critical look at what worked, what didn’t and why it…

New Journey

A co-worker of mine is leaving her job and it’s an ADWAS (the agency I work for) tradition to sign a card or make one of our own to wish the person farewell. The idea of a journey is what led the design for the tangle I did tonight. I’ll finish it up tomorrow.

iPad Post

Trying to post from the iPad. This will be a first. So I’m keeping it short. Another tangle. I did this one a little differently and I’m still trying to decide if I like it. Here’s the tangle for my post.

Card

I made a Zendala and I put it on patterned paper to make a card. I like doing tangles on different shapes. Grrr….The picture is not downloading so I’ll have to add it tomorrow. Updated: Here’s the picture.

Finished Tangle

Today was a great day for finishing things up. I have wood journal covers that needed to have holes drilled a little larger, cleaned up my studio space, and I finished my tangle from last night.

Another Tangle

One thing I’m actually relieved about now that my year is up is that I don’t have to find numbers anymore. I like that I did it but I’m happy to let it go. I began a new tangle postcard tonight. I do love them.

Itty Bitty II

I continued my tiny tangle canvases. Sometimes it’s nice to try move to a 3D object because it shakes up my mind a bit. Like when I tangled the egg, which I still haven’t finished because the ink takes so long. Perhaps I’ll switch to a Sharpie and see if that dries faster. The photos…

Egg

I’d hard boiled eggs on Sunday with every intention of decorating them with the kids. It didn’t happen. But who says Easter is the only day to decorate eggs? We’ll still do it, perhaps this weekend. But tonight I wanted to try out the idea that Isabella gave me last Sunday. The eggs were boiled…

Odd Tangle

I have a paper punch that makes the shape below and can be folded into a tiny envelope. I punched one out and doodled on it using the interesting shape as my container. I like using different shaped paper sometimes cuz it helps to shake up my brain. The photo below is a scan of…
